Day 1
In the morning, our mini-van will pick you up from our office or your hotel and drive you out to the Lao Loum village
of Ban Xieng Muak. This is the site of the old dam of Luang Prabang Province. The villagers here grow a variety crops
like watercress, maize and yellow beans. The Khmu ethnic minority village of Ban Phano is a short walk away.
Then we continue on our trek through the forest to the Hmong village of Long Lao, on the way you can take pictures of
the upland rice fields, maize, and Job’s tears. You may see some leeches but you will certainly see clear, bubbling
spring waters flowing into the Mekong River.
Then it’s on through the forest to KuangSi Waterfall for lunch followed by swimming in the cool blue waters or just
relaxing. The more energetic can visit a tiger and some black bears or take an elephant ride.
Round off your day with a little souvenir shopping and then the mini-van will return you to Luang Prabang.
